Throughout the games, the player captures and raises Pokémon for use in battle. The games are part of the third generation of the Pokémon video game series and hold the distinction of being the first enhanced remakes of previous games within the franchise.Īs in previous games, the player controls the player character from an overhead perspective and participates in turn-based battles. FireRed and LeafGreen were first released in Japan in January 2004 and in North America and Europe in September and October 2004 respectively. They were developed by Game Freak, published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance.
Also, it supports linked communications via the Game link cable and Game Boy Advance.Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version are 2004 remakes of the 1996 Game Boy role-playing video games Pokémon Red and Blue. Both the games have Game Boy Advance and GameCube Pokemon RPG compatibility which is unlocked after winning the entire game and a side-quest. The game also supports battling and trading of the original Pokemon that started with the new Ruby and Sapphire editions. This area is archipelago known as Sevii Islands which include Johto and Hoenn-related Pokemon items and events. Also, new to the game is an area which is accessible to the players after fulfilling certain conditions. This device works only for non-player Pokemon trainers not for gym-leaders. Also, there is an item called VS seeker by which a player can re-battle against Pokemon trainers. The players will be able to access a new ‘help’ feature which lets the player see the saved data at any point in the game.
These are not the exact remakes as many new features have been added while retaining the previous ones.
